okie....it's my 2nd day working in the Accident & Emergency Department today.. i feel that it is a nice place to work at b'cos it is very fast pace and that is wat i like about it..haha but yst i was in the resuscitation room and didn't have much things to do as it was a little quiet..BUT it is suppose to be the busiest place!!! so i consoled myself as being LUCKY for the patients la cos like that no one die ma.. but UNLUCKY as a student b'cos u don't get to learn much!! haha anyway... i managed to see a resuscitation case..whereby they use a cardiac thumper (auto-pulse) it is a machine whereby it takes over the compression during CPR then a staff will do the bagging of air... was really happy tt i manage to see a case BUT of course i will want to the patient to be successfully resus! he was resus for about half an hour and when the doctors decide to call it off he had pulse again....all of us were so happy b'cos jus not long before he collapse he was still very alert and then suddenly he jus collapsed!!!! but the pulse didn't stay for long and so he still pass away in the end...which was very sad! then there was a lot of doctor but all were jus staring at the patient b'cos the machine was teking over the CPR ma then all they do is give the drug and wait to see if patient can make it a not.. if cannot then they have to certify the patient dead.... then when doing some check, there is this indian doctor who asked to go over at tt moment i tot he want some help but actually he jus called me to go over then he showed me the pupils of the patient where 1 is fixed while the other dilate to light....so weird but maybe he jus wanted to teach me something la haha but i already know how a fixed and dilate pupil looked like.. LOL another 2 more days and that is the end of my A & E posting!!! why so fast!!! i haven learn all the things yet and i am suppose to leave!! sianx.....
